Community Programs

To Serve With Love offers a variety of programs to serve our community through education, mentorship, and empowerment.

Beat the Odds Foundation
A scholarship born of understanding what it means to truly beat the odds. Teresa’s testimony… I beat the odds in my life as I overcame being sick as a child, growing into adulthood, and finding myself homeless with little education and 3 small children to feed. After being homeless for 2 1/2 years I finally got back on track, enrolled in school, and earned a degree. The reason? To better provide for my children and show them that no matter the odds you can achieve your dreams. I beat the odds. After I finished school I decided to give back to my community and thus the Beat the Odds Foundation was born. No matter your circumstances you can get an education and fulfill your dreams. This scholarship provides an individual the opportunity to dream and achieve.

TSWL Walk Against Homelessness
Annually in April. To raise awareness about homelessness in our community and around the country. In Mecklenburg county, we have over 10,000 people each night living on the street. Each year thousands experience homelessness. Costs outstrip income and homelessness has become more of a reality for our working families. In our schools, over 6,000 children enrolled are homeless.
